In 2020, as part of the construction of a new warehouse at the PMA/TOOLS AG headquarters, a photovoltaic system covering 2,300 m² was installed. Since then, 802 solar modules have been generating electricity from solar energy. The roof area of the adjacent building has now also been utilised and equipped with an additional 248 solar panels.
The electricity generated on site covers a large share of the company’s own energy demand. Any electricity requirements beyond solar generation are sourced entirely from hydropower. Together with the low-energy warehouse and office building, the site’s energy infrastructure has been continuously expanded over recent years.
The solar installation currently supplies 12 charging points for electric vehicles. In addition, six further charging stations for electric vehicles have been planned and will also be integrated into the site’s energy supply concept.
Since 2019, the automotive glass accessories specialist has also provided a bicycle garage. It offers secure storage and charging facilities for up to 12 bicycles and one electric scooter.
As a result, employees and visitors at the Willich site have access to various charging options for electric vehicles.
