Vor wenigen Tagen erst hat Opel den Namen seines neuen Konzeptfahrzeugs bekanntgegeben: Opel Sports Tourer eXperimental Concept, kurz: Opel STX Concept. Und schon jetzt eröffnet der deutsche Hersteller erste Ausblicke auf die atemberaubende Studie. Die Bilder unterstreichen die hohe Präzision und die Liebe zum Detail, die Opel beim STX Concept walten lässt. Zugleich geben sie einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf die nächste Entwicklungsstufe des Opel Vizor-Markengesichts und die Opel-Vision künftiger Kombis.

„Wir sind echte Kombi-Pioniere – bereits in den 1950er Jahren haben wir dieser Fahrzeuggattung in Europa zum Durchbruch verholfen. Mit dem STX Concept zeigen wir unsere Vision zukünftigen Kombi-Designs und führen zugleich die nächste Entwicklungsstufe unserer mutigen und klaren Designphilosophie ein. Weitere Details geben wir in Kürze bekannt – bleiben sie also gespannt“, sagt Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

Die ersten Bilder des Opel STX Concept deuten es bereits an: Was direkt auffällt, ist die Weiterentwicklung des Opel Vizor. Das charakteristische Markengesicht erscheint nun noch mutiger als in seinen bisherigen Ausgestaltungen und beeindruckt mit einer neuen Lichtsignatur, die in präzise angeordneten, vertikal geneigten Lamellen verläuft. Der beleuchtete Opel Blitz bildet dabei wie gewohnt das sichtbare Zentrum des Opel Kompass.

Ein weiteres, seit langem etabliertes Markenzeichen von Opel-Pkw ist ihr aerodynamisch effizientes Design. Diese Tradition fortführend, wird der Opel STX Concept intelligente Aerodynamik-Lösungen aufzeigen, die nicht nur den Verbrauch senken, sondern auch die Spurtreue und den Fahrspaß bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten auf der Autobahn erhöhen. Dazu tragen unter anderem die aerodynamisch optimierten Leichtmetallräder im Drei-Zonen-Design bei.

Der Opel STX Concept feiert auf dem diesjährigen Pariser Autosalon vom 12. bis 18. Oktober Weltpremiere.

Aktuell laufen in der Heimatstadt von Opel, die seit 2023 auch Sitz von Stellantis in Deutschland ist, sowohl der Opel Astra als auch der DS N°4 in allen Antriebsvarianten vom Band. Für Sicherheit am Standort sorgte im Sommer die Zusage von Florian Huettl, CEO von Opel & Vauxhall und Managing Director Stellantis Germany, dass auch die nächste Generation des Opel Astra in Rüsselsheim gebaut wird. Die dafür erforderlichen Umbauten in der Fertigung – der kommende Astra wird auf der neuen STLA ONE Plattform basieren – sind Teil der Investition von mehr als einer Milliarde Euro, die Huettl bis 2030 in Deutschland angekündigt hat.

Mit Christoph Weis übernimmt ein Experte die Leitung des Stammwerks, der Opel seit Jahrzehnten eng verbunden ist: Weis startete seine Karriere als Auszubildender im Bereich Mechatronik bereits 2001 bei dem Hersteller aus Hessen. „Christoph Weis ist sowohl ein kluger Stratege als auch ein großer Teamplayer. Mit seinem klaren Fokus auf fortlaufende Verbesserung wird er unser Werk in Rüsselsheim, das er seit vielen Jahren bis ins kleinste Detail kennt, erfolgreich weiterentwickeln und die richtigen Weichen für die Zukunft des Standorts Rüsselsheim stellen“, sagt Florian Huettl.

Weis verbrachte seine gesamte Karriere bei Opel. Einzige Unterbrechung war sein Studium mit dem Abschluss Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen. Schon 2011 kam er als Betriebsingenieur zurück zu Opel. Seither war er in verschiedenen Rollen aktiv, zuletzt verantwortete er als Masterplan Manager die strategische Ausrichtung und Zukunftssicherung des Werks Rüsselsheim. „Für mich schließt sich ein besonderer Kreis: Vom Auszubildenden zum Werksleiter an dem Standort, an dem meine Karriere begonnen hat“, sagt Weis. „Unser Werk in Rüsselsheim steht für höchste Qualitätsstandards, Effizienz und Flexibilität – Eigenschaften, die für den Standort Deutschland fundamental sind. Ich kenne das Werk, seine Menschen und seine Stärken aus eigener Erfahrung. Gemeinsam werden wir die erfolgreiche Entwicklung der vergangenen Jahre fortsetzen, unsere Wettbewerbsfähigkeit weiter stärken und den Standort optimal auf die nächste Astra-Generation ausrichten. Der Schlüssel dazu ist die Leidenschaft und Kompetenz unserer Mannschaft, auf die ich mich jederzeit verlassen kann."

Timo Schulz dominated the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg: the German and his co-driver Maresa Lade kept their rivals at bay in their all-electric Opel Mokka GSE Rally and celebrated their third victory of the season at the fourth round of the 2026 ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup at the weekend. After 14 special stages covering 141.8 kilometres – thanks to ‘remote charging’ – the electric cars, with power outputs of up to 207 kW (281 hp), once again covered the entire distance of the rally – Schulz and Lade finished 1 minute and 18 seconds ahead of the runners-up, setting the fastest time on no fewer than ten occasions.

Despite his outage at the Rallye Vosges Grand-Est, the 27-year-old – who also heads into the final round of the Junior European Rally Championship (JERC) in Portugal at the end of October as the leader – moved up to second place, now just seven points behind the leader. “It really went like clockwork,” said a delighted Schulz. “We were able to pull away early on and manage our lead thereafter. Here, unlike in the JERC, it’s not a seven-point lead but a seven-point deficit in the standings – but there are still three rounds to go in the Cup. It’s incredibly close, and everything is still up for grabs.”

The new leader in the world’s first electric rally one-make cup is Ioan Lloyd, who finished third to secure his fourth podium finish of the season. “Today was a real rollercoaster ride,” Lloyd summed up afterwards. “We got off to a good start and were in second place behind Timo and Maresa, who were once again incredibly strong. Then came a spin and rear-axle damage, which set us back to fifth place. I’m really pleased that we still managed to make it onto the podium and pick up the points for second place in the Power Stage. The battle against Timo and Tom is incredibly close – that’s exactly what makes the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup so special.”

Tom Dufour was hit much harder than Lloyd. The Frenchman, who had travelled to North Rhine-Westphalia as the championship leader, was in second place when he lost his left front wheel during a run-off in the fourth special stage, after which the stage had to be neutralised. Although Dufour and his co-driver Alex Dubois were able to restart on Saturday, they were no longer in contention for the top positions due to the ten-minute time penalty for failing to complete the special stage. Dufour slipped to third place in the standings, but still has every chance in the remaining three rounds of the season. After four of seven rounds, just ten points separate the top three.

Meanwhile, Alex Español and Valentino Ledda delivered their strongest performance of the season. Last year’s Cup runner-up from Spain and his co-driver Enrique Velasco finished second. Ledda, who has often been dogged by bad luck this year, also impressively demonstrated his pace. With his new co-driver Lorenzo Fratta, the Italian was on course for a podium finish until shortly before the end, but passed a time control too late before special stage 13. The ten-second penalty and a mistake in the final stage saw him drop back behind the Swedish team Dante Johansson and Tom Törngren to fifth place overall.

Once again, the two women in the field put in fine performances. Claire Schönborn made another decisive improvement on Saturday and finished the rally – the very one where she had begun her rallying career with Opel just two years ago – in sixth place overall. Among other things, the 27-year-old shone by setting the second-fastest time in special stage 12. The Belgian Thyrsa Eertmans followed immediately behind the German in seventh place.

The fifth round of the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup will take place from October 16 to 18 as part of the legendary Sanremo Rally in Italy.

Timo Schulz hat die ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg dominiert: Der Saarländer und seine Beifahrerin Maresa Lade hielten in ihrem Opel Mokka GSE Rally die elektrische Konkurrenz in Schach und feierten beim vierten Lauf zum ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup 2026 am Wochenende bereits ihren dritten Saisonsieg. Nach 14 Wertungsprüfungen über 141,8 Kilometer – dank „Remote Charging“ bestritten die bis zu 207 kW (281 PS) starken Stromer wiederum die komplette Distanz der Rallye – lagen Schulz/Lade 1:18 Minuten vor den Zweitplatzierten und setzten dabei nicht weniger als zehn Mal die Bestzeit.

Trotz des Ausfalls bei der Rallye Vosges Grand-Est schob sich der 27-jährige Siersburger, der auch als Führender ins Finale der Junior-Rallye-Europameisterschaft (JERC) Ende Oktober in Portugal geht, mit nur noch sieben Zählern Rückstand auf den zweiten Rang nach vorne. „Es lief wirklich wie am Schnürchen“, freute sich Schulz. „Wir konnten uns früh absetzen und den Vorsprung in der Folge managen. Hier sind es, anders als in der JERC, nicht sieben Punkte Vorsprung, sondern sieben Punkte Rückstand in der Tabelle – aber dafür sind im Cup noch drei Läufe zu fahren. Es geht super eng zu, und alles ist offen.“

Neuer Spitzenreiter im weltweit ersten elektrischen Rallye-Markenpokal ist Ioan Lloyd, der als Drittplatzierter zum vierten Mal in dieser Saison aufs Podest fuhr. „Der Tag heute war eine echte Achterbahnfahrt“, fasste Lloyd danach zusammen. „Wir haben gut begonnen und lagen auf Platz zwei hinter Timo und Maresa, die wieder unglaublich stark unterwegs waren. Dann kamen Dreher und Hinterachsschaden, die uns auf Platz fünf zurückgeworfen haben. Dass es dann noch zum Podium gereicht hat und wir die Punkte für Platz zwei in der Powerstage mitnehmen konnten, freut mich sehr. Der Kampf gegen Timo und Tom ist unglaublich eng – genau das macht den ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup aus.“

Erheblich härter als Lloyd traf es Tom Dufour. Der als Tabellenführer nach Nordrhein-Westfalen gereiste Franzose riss sich, auf Rang 2 liegend, bei einem Ausritt in der vierten Wertungsprüfung das linke Vorderrad ab, worauf die Prüfung neutralisiert werden musste. Zwar konnten Dufour und sein Beifahrer Alex Dubois am Samstag wieder starten, aber aufgrund der zehnminütigen Zeitstrafe für die nicht absolvierte Prüfung nicht mehr in den Kampf um die Spitzenpositionen eingreifen. In der Tabelle rutschte Dufour auf Rang drei ab, hat in den verbleibenden drei Saisonläufen aber noch alle Chancen. Die ersten drei trennen nach vier von sieben Saisonläufen gerade einmal zehn Punkte.

Ihre stärkste Saisonleistung lieferten derweil Alex Español und Valentino Ledda ab. Der letztjährige Cup-Vizechampion aus Spanien fuhr nach durchwachsenem Saisonverlauf gemeinsam mit Beifahrer Enrique Velasco als Zweiter aufs Treppchen. Auch der in diesem Jahr oft vom Pech verfolgte Ledda zeigte seinen Speed eindrucksvoll auf. Mit seinem neuen Beifahrer Lorenzo Fratta fuhr der Italiener bis kurz vor Schluss auf Podestkurs, passierte vor WP13 allerdings eine Zeitkontrolle zu spät. Die zehn Strafsekunden und ein Patzer in der letzten Prüfung warfen ihn noch hinter die Schweden Dante Johansson/Tom Törngren auf den fünften Schlussrang zurück.

Eine feine Vorstellung zeigten wiederum die beiden Frauen im Feld. Insbesondere Claire Schönborn legte am Samstag nochmals entscheidend zu und beendete jene Rallye, bei der sie erst vor zwei Jahren mit Opel ihre Rallye-Karriere begonnen hatte, auf dem sechsten Schlussrang. Dabei glänzte die 27-Jährige unter anderem mit der zweitschnellsten Zeit in WP12. Die Belgierin Thyrsa Eertmans folgte unmittelbar hinter der Hunsrückerin auf Platz sieben.

Der fünfte Lauf zum ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup geht vom 16. bis 18. Oktober im Rahmen der legendären Rallye Sanremo in Italien über die Bühne.

Opel will grant visitors of this year’s Paris Motor Show a peak into the future. More specifically: into the future of technically cutting-edge and visually stunning estate cars. The latest concept car from Rüsselsheim, the visionary Opel Sports Tourer eXperimental Concept – or Opel STX Concept for short – will celebrate its world premiere in the French capital.

Furthermore, Opel will be showcasing its full range of highly dynamic GSE models there from October 12 to 18. At Opel, GSE stands for ‘Grand Sport Electric’ – and it is precisely this spirit of highly dynamic driving pleasure and design, combined with Deutscher Ingenieurskunst (German engineering expertise), that the German manufacturer will be presenting to an international audience. First and foremost, the new Opel GSE 27FE. The GEN4 Formula E racing car for the coming season, with over 800 hp, represents the epitome of the Opel GSE world and can be seen for the first time in its final world championship design. The new Opel Corsa GSE everyday sports car, which is already available to order, is also making its exhibition debut. The 207 kW (281 hp) hot hatch accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds – faster than any other current production model from Opel. And anyone wishing to experience the GSE feeling, regardless of their preferred powertrain, will soon have the opportunity to do so. The new GSE Line trim level is set to launch, starting with the Opel Astra GSE Line in Paris.

The GSE range is further complemented by the Opel Mokka GSE, bringing the rally feeling from its motorsport counterpart, the Mokka GSE Rally, to the road. Together with the top-of-the-range Grandland Electric AWD all-wheel-drive SUV and the affordable Frontera Electric family SUV in its Extended Range variant, it exemplifies the wide range of fresh SUVs bearing the Blitz emblem.

Together with Vice President Marketing Rebecca Reinermann and Vice President Design Mark Adams, Opel CEO Florian Huettl will present these and other highlights to an international audience at the Opel Press Conference, which will take place at the Opel stand A42 in hall 4 at 11.40 CEST on Monday, October 12.

Opel STX Concept: The vision of tomorrow’s highly emotional and technical estate

The Opel STX Concept is the bold vision of the electric estate of tomorrow. It combines German engineering, emotional design and intelligent technologies in such a way that drivers and passengers experience the highest level of driving pleasure. The latest concept car from Rüsselsheim thus continues Opel’s long tradition as an estate pioneer in Europe and clearly relates to the Sports Tourer models with the Blitz, such as the latest generation Astra Sports Tourer, with its ‘ST’ abbreviation. But the STX Concept is more. It also symbolises the next evolutionary step of Opel’s design philosophy – even bolder, purer, more emotional and more efficient. This is evident in the even more striking Opel Vizor, with its light animations in curved lamellas, as well as in the steeply sloping rear and the overall surface design, which, with its flush, precise lines and a distinctively technical appearance, emphasises the vehicle’s character.

In addition, the STX Concept has an active aerodynamic system that continuously adapts to the driving situation, using moving elements at the rear to optimise airflow, reduce drag and improve stability. Thus, the STX Concept is not only a show car that presents groundbreaking design with innovative technology ideas. It also anticipates the evolution of the estate body style and already contains elements of future Opel models.

Opel GSE 27FE: All-electric GEN 4 Formula E racing car in its final livery

The Opel GSE 27FE is the GEN 4 race car for the Formula E World Championship, which Opel will join as of the coming season. And it is the epitome of the Opel GSE motto ‘Grand Sport Electric’. The high-performance car has permanent all-wheel drive, an output of over 800 hp, achieves a recuperation output of up to 700 kW and is thus taking electric motorsport to a completely new level.

Elsewhere, Opel will convey the racing car’s speed and performance at first sight. The Opel Compass features prominently at the front and clearly identifies the vehicle as an Opel. At the same time, the GSE 27FE continues to develop the GSE design language introduced with the Mokka GSE Rally – from a rugged rally look to a new visual world designed for high-tech and high-speed Formula E. At the Paris Motor Show, the Opel GSE 27FE is on display for the first time in its final livery, ready for its world championship debut.

Opel Corsa GSE: Everyday sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds

The new Opel Corsa GSE, which is already available to order, will celebrate its exhibition premiere in Paris. The hot hatch, in keeping with the finest tradition, makes its appearance in the distinctive GSE design and promises emotions, excitement and high performance combined with all-electric driving pleasure.

The high-performance version of Germany’s best-selling small car has everything one could wish for: With a lowered sports chassis, 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Newton metres of torque, the newcomer offers just as much electric power as the ‘2025 Golden Steering Wheel’^[2] winner Mokka GSE. But the Corsa GSE flexes its muscles a little more. Because it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds – faster than any other current production Opel! Drivers accelerate to 180 km/h on a clear German Autobahn. The performance is underlined by an active sports sound developed exclusively for the new Corsa GSE, which accompanies the driving experience depending on acceleration and speed. This all makes the performance visible, tangible and audible to the driver and passengers.

Opel Astra GSE Line: Highly dynamic GSE looks and free choice of powertrains

The all-electric everyday sports cars Mokka GSE and Corsa GSE are wowing the media and the public alike with their performance, precision and highly dynamic design. Consequently, Opel is following up quickly, bringing the GSE experience to other models – with the latest Astra debuting the new trim. The compact class bestseller made in Rüsselsheim will be on display as the Astra GSE Line at the ‘Mondial de l’Auto’ for the first time.

With the new trim, customers will be able to drive their own car in the distinctive GSE design while retaining a free choice of powertrains. The new GSE Line, which will be available to order from spring 2027, gives the Astra an even sharper look and can be combined with battery-electric, plug-in hybrid or hybrid powertrains, as well as conventional internal combustion engines.

Exciting SUV family: Mokka GSE, Grandland Electric AWD and Frontera Electric

Furthermore, Opel is showcasing the full variety of electric SUVs with the Blitz in the French capital. The Mokka GSE brings the rally feeling of its motorsport counterpart, the Mokka GSE Rally, to the road for customers. All this with the same power output of 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Newton metres of torque. Added to this are rally-inspired technology and numerous design and equipment details that evoke pure emotion. And with a top speed of 200 km/h, the Mokka GSE is the fastest all-electric production Opel to date.

Maximum driving comfort and safety in all traffic and weather conditions are the top priorities for the Grandland Electric AWD. Opel’s first all-electric model with all-wheel drive boasts a total system output of 239 kW (325 hp) and up to 509 Newton metres of torque. The Grandland Electric AWD’s chassis, featuring adaptive Frequency Selective Damping technology, and its individually selectable driving modes are crucial for optimum road contact and reliable grip. Drivers can choose from ‘Normal’, ‘Eco’, ‘Sport’ and ‘4WD’. The top-of-the-range SUV thus ensures outstanding roadholding and driving pleasure – whether on snow or when towing a caravan on a holiday trip.

Opel’s current SUV range in Paris is rounded off by the practical, family-friendly and affordable Frontera SUV. The Frontera offers particularly good value for money with innovative features such as comfortable Intelli-Seats, a smartphone station and space for up to seven people. And the Frontera Electric Extended Range offers a locally emissions-free range of up to 400 kilometres (WLTP³) between charging stops thanks to its 54 kWh battery (52 kWh usable capacity).

Opel blickt auf dem diesjährigen Pariser Autosalon in die Zukunft. Genauer: in die Zukunft technisch hochmoderner und zugleich visuell begeisternder Kombis. Denn die jüngste Studie aus Rüsselsheim, der visionäre Opel Sports Tourer eXperimental Concept, kurz: Opel STX Concept, feiert in der französischen Hauptstadt Weltpremiere.

Darüber hinaus fährt Opel vom 12. bis 18. Oktober das volle Programm hochdynamischer GSE-Modelle auf. GSE steht bei Opel für „Grand Sport Electric“ – und genau diesen Spirit aus hochdynamischem Fahrspaß und Design gepaart mit deutscher Ingenieurskunst zeigt der deutsche Hersteller dem internationalen Publikum. Das GSE-Portfolio ergänzt zudem der Alltagssportler Opel Mokka GSE, der direkt von seinem Motorsport-Pendant Mokka GSE Rally abstammt. Gemeinsam mit dem Top-Elektro-Allradler Grandland Electric AWD und dem erschwinglichen Familien-SUV Frontera Electric in der Extended Range-Variante präsentiert er exemplarisch das breite Angebot junger SUVs mit dem Blitz.

Opel STX Concept: Die emotional-technische Kombi-Vision von morgen

Der Opel STX Concept ist die mutige Vision des elektrischen Kombis von morgen. Deutsche Ingenieurskunst, emotionales Design und intelligente Technologien kombiniert er so, dass Fahrer und Passagiere höchsten Fahrgenuss erleben. Das jüngste Konzeptfahrzeug aus Rüsselsheim führt damit die lange Tradition von Opel als Kombi-Pionier in Europa fort und stellt mit der Abkürzung „ST“ bewusst die Verbindung zu Sports Tourer-Modellen mit dem Blitz, wie dem jüngsten Astra Sports Tourer, her. Opel GSE 27FE: Vollelektrischer GEN4-Formel-E-Rennwagen im finalen Design

Der Opel GSE 27FE ist der Rennwagen für die GEN4-Generation der Formel-E-Weltmeisterschaft, die mit der kommenden Saison beginnt – und er stellt die Quintessenz des Opel GSE-Leistungsgedankens „Grand Sport Electric“ dar. Der Hochleistungs-Stromer verfügt über permanenten Allradantrieb, bietet über 800 PS Power, erreicht eine Rekuperationsleistung von bis zu 700 kW und hebt damit elektrischen Motorsport auf ein völlig neues Niveau.
