Without color, life would be pretty gray. For designers, colour is a fundamental design tool at all times to make products functional, but above all also emotional. Klaus Botta’s understanding of functionality and color was decisively influenced by Bauhaus – in the new TRES colores, the product designer has once again reinterpreted the roots and values of the BOTTA watch brand. The result is a discreetly colored, elegant watch with refined details, exquisite case coating and the well-known high-quality components that guarantee a long life.

Modern watch interpretation with advanced material concept …

With its straight-lined dial and geometrically structured case, the new TRES colores interprets the Bauhaus ideals such as functionality, progressiveness in form and material as well as originality in a contemporary way. Its watch hands in the Bauhaus colours red, blue and yellow turn playfully above the deep black dial. Its discreetly raised numerals remain hidden at first and create an effective play of reflexes when light falls on them.

The TRES colores is available as 44 mm automatic and 40 mm quartz watch. The 44 mm automatic version has a three-part fully screwed stainless steel case with a particularly fine DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating. Through a sapphire crystal in the back, it presents an ETA automatic movement that reflects the colors of the hands – in red bearing rubies, a gold-colored balance and in the blue-metallic shimmering rotor. The 40 mm quartz watch is made of Tri-Titanium, a newly developed special combination of three special titanium alloys, and is finished using the PVD process (Physical Vapour Deposition). Its is closed by a metallic blue ion-plated back.

The particularly functional shape of the case with bevelled flanks on the underside ensures particularly high wearing comfort. In both available versions, the TRES colores is equipped with double-domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, which is highly transparent and extremely robust. Both watch models are powered by high-quality Swiss Made movements.

"At the Bauhaus, great importance was attached to functional design and the use of advanced materials. This also unites BOTTA and Bauhaus," says Klaus Botta, owner of the watch brand of the same name, explaining the motivation behind his designs. The inventor of the one-hand watch is a graduate of the Offenbach University of Design, which succeeded the Bauhaus. So every year is a Bauhaus year at BOTTA; last year the rest of the world celebrated the 100th anniversary of the famous German design school.

… thought out to the last detail

The TRES colores comes with a set of three Polychromos pens by Faber Castell and a square BOTTA sketchpad made especially for this watch – "for the wearer’s creative moments".

Über BOTTA design

German watch design in the tradition of the manufactory

With his philosophical design approach, Klaus Botta has significantly influenced the watch industry. His UNO single-hand watch, launched in 1986, was the world’s first wristwatch based on the single-hand principle. BOTTA design’s timepieces have long since become classics and are exhibited in collections of renowned museums worldwide.
60 international awards underline the high level of design competence. The entire collection, which also includes other mechanical watches and quartz wristwatches, is developed and designed at the company headquarters in Königstein. The production in specialized manufactories in Germany as well as the use of high quality components guarantee a very high quality and longevity of the watches.
