INEOS Styrolution, the global leader in styrenics, has been awarded the highest sustainability rating by EcoVadis. The platinum rating is awarded to the top 1 percent of companies, based on the implementation of the company’s sustainability programme and the company’s sustainability report published last year. The score takes into account four themes evaluated by EcoVadis: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

EcoVadis is a global provider of business sustainability ratings, intelligence and performance improvement tools for global supply chains. It is a highly trusted organisation. Its global team of experts provides supply chains and investors with sustainability scorecards, which give detailed insight into environmental, social and ethical risks across 65,000 companies across 160 countries.

This latest rating places INEOS Styrolution best in class in the category of plastics manufacturers. The company demonstrated an advanced management system for environmental issues, sustainable procurement as well as labour and human rights.

The company scored particularly high in the environment section. This can be attributed to the company’s ongoing investment into establishing a circular economy for styrenics. INEOS Styrolution continues to work together with leading technology firms along the value chain to explore innovative recycling technologies and new feedstock for the production of polystyrene and other styrenics materials. INEOS Styrolution is committed to reduce plastics going to landfill and recovering and recycling post-consumer plastics waste into high-quality products.

The company aims to shift to a low-carbon economy by reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and recently achieved ISO 14001 certification of all its 20 production sites. The recent audit and certification of our bio-attributed materials and supply chain also contributed to the high rating.

“EcoVadis’ platinum rating shows that we are leading the way with our sustainability objectives. This rating is also recognised by our customers and investors as a basis for doing business with them,” comments Steve Harrington, CEO, INEOS Styrolution. “We are encouraged about this positive recognition and continue our efforts contributing to environmental and societal well-being. In line with the INEOS pledge we want to be a reliable partner for our customers and business partners by delivering solutions that help them to meet their own sustainability targets.”
