At AHN we spend a lot of time tinkering in our R&D lab trying to explore new frontiers in innovative life science equipment and consumables. By providing the best lab equipment we believe that we are doing our part in helping scientists push the limits of human potential in life science research. The latest iterations of AHN microcentrifuges and vortex mixers testify of our commitment to innovation and quality. Here’s an overview of the things that we think you’ll love about these microcentrifuges and vortex mixers.

AHN myLab® Microcentrifuge 6000 rpm

The beautifully compact AHN myLab® microentrifuge 6000 rpm is a little microcentrifuge that packs a serious punch. Powered by a maintenance-free brushless DC motor, this microcentrifuge can accelerate to 2000g in a just few seconds. The microcentrifuge motor runs silently for extended periods without overheating. The AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 6000 rpm, is also equipped with great safety features such as an electronic brake mechanism and rubber feet that anchor the microcentrifuge to the workbench.
The AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 6000 rpm features an 8-place rotor that accommodates microtubes ranging from 0.2mL to 2mL (supplied with adaptors for smaller tubes). An additional rotor holding two 8-tube strips makes the AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 6000 rpm PCR-ready. With the AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 6000 rpm tasks such as microfiltration, sedimentation and cell separation among others just got easier.

AHN myLab® Microcentrifuge 15000 rpm

Stepping up the game is the AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 15000 rpm. As the natural big brother to the AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 6000 rpm, the AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 15000 rpm goes the extra mile in all respects. This microcentrifuge is powered by a brushless DC motor that is built for speedy acceleration (15596g in a few seconds) and extended run cycles. With an operating noise below 60 db, this microcentrifuge spins quietly while maintaining unimpeded airflow to protect samples from motor-generated heat.
The standard 12-place rotor of the AHN myLab® microcentrifuge 15000 rpm can fit 1.5mL and 2mL microtubes. The microcentrifuge is supplied with adaptors that accommodate 0.2-0.5mL tubes. For spinning PCR strips the microcentrifuge’s standard rotor can be quickly swopped out for a PCR rotor that can be purchased separately. AHN microcentrifuges pack the best features of modern centrifuges in a compact footprint that barely takes up space on any workbench.

AHN myLab® Vortex Mixer 2800 rpm

AHN vortex mixers are crafted to give the most satisfying mixing results of any vortex mixer period! Just like AHN microcentrifuges, the AHN myLab® Vortex Mixer 2800 rpm is built to last a lifetime and it’s packed with a maintenance-free brushless motor. An orbital diameter of 4mm allows the AHN myLab® Vortex Mixer the flexibility of trimodal operation – continuous, touch activation and stand-by – giving total control to the operator.
The standard cup head can be replaced with multiple optional attachments for microtubes, microplates and flasks. Digital speed control allows the AHN myLab® Vortex Mixer to operate at low speeds for gentle mixing or high speeds for rapid and vigorous sample mixing. This silent beau has a temperature tolerance of 5°C – 40°C which makes it an excellent choice for mixing samples in cold rooms and hoods. This is the perfect vortex mixer for space constrained labs that do not want to compromise on quality and features.

AHN myLab® Mini Vortex Mixer 4500 rpm

The AHN myLab® Mini Vortex mixer is the perfect tool for the job when working with individual tubes that do not exceed 30mm in diameter. Weighing in at only 0.55 kg, this little vortex mixer offers variable speed mixing and can ramp up to 4500 rpm for the most demanding jobs. A tiny footprint, low voltage power supply and powerful suction cups make it the perfect vortex mixer for tiny spaces such as benchtop hoods (5°C – 40°C and 80% humidity).
The single touch operation and 4.5mm orbital motion of the AHN myLab® Mini Vortex mixer makes it easy to mix samples by pressing them against the rubber cup. Mixing speeds can be adjusted easily by rotating the speed knob clockwise or counterclockwise. A die cast base stabilizes the vortex mixer reducing unpleasant vibrations for the operator. The one thing we love the most about the AHN myLab® Mini Vortex mixer is that it stays shoosh, never exceeding 50 db.

AHN myLab® Vortex Mixer 4200 rpm

For the ultimate sample shaking experience the AHN myLab® Laboratory Vortex Mixer 4200 rpm offers the highest speed, precision, safety, and overall reliability of any vortex mixer in its class. This advanced vortex mixer offers variable speed mixing (300 – 4200 rpm) and multiple attachments accommodating samples ranging from microtubes (1.5-2.0mL) to 250mL flasks.
The AHN myLab® Laboratory Vortex Mixer 4200 rpm features a programmable digital display that makes it easy to monitor the mixing speed and time. A powerful brushless motor and a 4mm orbital diameter allow this vortex mixer to deliver homogenous results every time. For finer control, the AHN myLab® Laboratory Vortex Mixer 4200 rpm can be used in continuous or programmable pulse modes.
