– 100% acquisition of the cleaning service provider Bockholdt GmbH & Co. KG
– STRABAG PFS strengthens regional customer structure and competence in infrastructural facility management
– Acquisition is a further step in the expansion of STRABAG PFS as a provider of integrated facility services.

Through the acquisition of the northern German cleaning service provider Bockholdt GmbH & Co. KG, the STRABAG Property and Facility Services Group (STRABAG PFS) is growing in the segment of infrastructural facility management services. A corresponding purchase agreement was signed on 22 December 2022.

With the acquisition, STRABAG PFS is significantly strengthening its volume of inhouse services and its presence in the north of Germany. In this way, it is implementing its strategic goal of providing integrated and high-quality real estate and industrial services in every sector nationwide and with a high level of inhouse performance.

The Lübeck-based family business Bockholdt was founded in 1959 and specialises in cleaning buildings, industrial facilities, and clinics. With around 3,600 employees, the company’s own training academy and 13 locations, Bockholdt is one of the largest and most attractive employers in northern Germany. In addition to maintenance cleaning, the services include innovative services in the field of industrial cleaning, robot-assisted cleaning of ventilation systems, as well as the environmentally friendly cleaning of solar and wind power plants, which is carried out by the company’s own industrial climbers. Professional pest control as well as operating theatre and clinic cleaning are also among the special features of the service portfolio. Gülten Bockholdt, personally liable partner of Bockholdt GmbH & Co. KG:
"I am pleased that the Bockholdt company will now develop holistically in the life cycle of building management. For the employees in particular, this transition means the greatest possible opportunities for further development and future security."

All jobs and locations remain unchanged. Dr Marion Henschel, Chairwoman of the Management Board of STRABAG PFS: "We are very pleased to welcome the Bockholdt employees to our team. Together we can achieve a lot; they ideally complement our technical core business. At Bockholdt, as at STRAGAG PFS, the focus is on the employees. This proven corporate culture unites the two companies and is a major reason for the acquisition. Especially customers, who require integrated FM services with a high inhouse performance can now be served better from us."

Subject to the relevant regulatory approvals, the closing is expected for the first quarter of 2023.
