  • Addressing global battery-supply-chain regulations and automaker sustainability requirements
  • Establishing a real-time carbon data management system based on ISO and Catena-X certifications

Glassdome, a leading carbon-emissions data management company, announced that it has signed an agreement with Samsung SDI to develop and implement a comprehensive Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) management solution covering all of Samsung SDI’s product lines.

The collaboration is a proactive response to tightening EU battery regulations and the growing demand from global automotive OEMs for transparent and verifiable carbon data across their supply chains. The project aims to establish a unified framework for calculating, managing, and reporting carbon data across Samsung SDI’s entire product portfolio.

Under the agreement, Glassdome will integrate and analyze carbon data generated throughout Samsung SDI’s manufacturing process — from cradle to gate — using its SaaS-based digital platform. The system will automatically calculate and report product-level carbon emissions in accordance with the ISO 14067 international standard.

The Glassdome PCF Solution consolidates process-level, real-time data to automatically compute carbon emissions per product. This enables manufacturers to comply swiftly and accurately with EU battery regulations, third-party verification requirements, and customer reporting standards.

The solution has received both Catena-X certification, the European standard for industrial data interoperability, and LRQA verification, an EU-ETS–authorized assurance body, demonstrating its reliability and full alignment with global regulatory frameworks.

Glassdome’s integrated PCF solution, combined with its consulting-based third-party verification service, is already being adopted by leading companies in regulated industries, including KG Mobility, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, LG Electronics Vehicle Components Division, Lotte Infracell, and Choil Aluminium.

“This partnership marks a key turning point for the global battery industry as it faces growing carbon regulations and demands for greater supply-chain transparency,” said Jinki Ham, CEO of Glassdome. “With solutions built on international standards and European data protocols, Glassdome will fully support Samsung SDI in meeting global customer expectations and strengthening its long-term sustainability competitiveness.”
