Online Event: “Thermografie-Anwenderkonferenz – Forschung & Entwicklung”
- Date: Wednesday, March 11, 2026
- Time: 10:00 AM – 03:00 PM (CET)
- Language: German
- Price: free of charge

Infrared thermography has developed into a versatile measurement method used, among other things, in electronics for fault detection and localization, in quality control for additive manufacturing, and in thermal flow analysis. Event participants will experience first-hand what the technology is currently capable of, how camera technology is being continuously advanced, and what evaluation options state-of-the-art software provides. In addition, participants will get to know exciting new products as well as InfraTec’s well thought out system solutions.
As part of the Anwenderkonferenz, attendees gain a solid understanding of the physical fundamentals, metrological relationships, and typical influencing factors—knowledge that helps users carry out thermographic measurements with greater confidence and assess the results more reliably. Speakers from industry and science will present interesting measurement tasks with a focus on research and development. The practical insights into the methodologies of experienced users are intended to help participants assess and leverage the potential of thermography even more specifically for their future measurement tasks.
Technical lectures from thermography practice:
- Technical lecture 1 in German:
- Title: „Lokale Analyse des Verformungsverhaltens additiv gefertigter Strukturen mittels hochauflösender Thermografie“
- Speaker: Dr.-Ing. Bastian Blinn, Fachbereich Maschinenbau und Verfahrenstechnik, Lehrstuhl für Werkstoffkunde, Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität, Kaiserslautern-Landau
- Technical lecture 2 in Englisch:
- Title: “Lasers: A Versatile Heat Source for Modern Active Thermographic Testing”
- Speaker: Dr.-Ing. Julien Lecompagnon, Bundesanstalt f. Materialforschung u. -prüfung (BAM)
The InfraTec infrared sensor and measurement technology company was founded in 1991 and has its headquarters in Dresden, Germany. The privately held company employs more than 240 employees and has its own design, manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
With its infrared measurement business unit, InfraTec is one of the leading suppliers of commercial thermal imaging technology. In addition to the high-end camera series ImageIR® and the camera series TarisIR® and VarioCAM® High Definition, InfraTec offers turnkey thermographic automation solutions e. g. for industry processes, non-destructive testing and fire detection and prevention.
The infrared sensor division produces custom-made components – especially pyroelectrical infrared detectors – for clients worldwide. The product range includes analogue single and multi-channel detectors as well as digital multi-channel detectors (PyrIQ). The detectors are used, for example, in gas analysis, fire and flame sensors and spectroscopy.
