- High costs: No participation in Eurobike 2026
- Lack of comparability: Bosch and ZIV also decline to participate in Eurobike 2026
- Trade fair landscape facing change: Pendix prioritises smaller trade fairs with a stronger focus on bicycles
- Service king in Düsseldorf: gDrive sets sustainable trends at CYCLINGWORLD
Pendix GmbH is reorienting its trade fair appearances for the future. High costs in particular have led to the company’s decision not to participate in the leading bicycle trade fair Eurobike 2026 in Frankfurt/Main. Another reason is the cancellation of industry giants such as Bosch and Shimano, as well as industry associations ZIV – Die Fahrradindustrie and Zukunft Fahrrad. In future, Pendix will focus on smaller trade fairs with a stronger connection to cycling. The first appearance under the new concept will therefore be at CYCLINGWORLD in Düsseldorf, where the new gDrive mid-drive motor will also be presented.
Following the cancellation of Bosch, Shimano and the industry associations ZIV – Die Fahrradindustrie and Zukunft Fahrrad, other major bicycle component manufacturers are now also considering not attending Eurobike 2026. They justify this with what they see as the inadequate and misguided reorientation of the trade fair as a whole. Pendix is expressly not participating in these discussions.
Nevertheless, these developments have led to points that ultimately resulted in the decision not to be present in Frankfurt/Main. On the one hand, the enormous increase in costs in recent years has repeatedly led to considerations of no longer participating in Eurobike. Now that visitors and trade professionals no longer have the opportunity to compare the advantages of Pendix products with those of conventional manufacturers, participation no longer makes sense from the perspective of the Saxony-based developer and manufacturer of electric bicycle drives. As a young, innovative company, Pendix has always been interested in trade fairs where it can present the product advantages of Pendix motors in direct comparison with established competitors. To this end, Pendix has accepted the high costs of Eurobike up to now. However, this argument loses its force following the cancellations of Bosch and Shimano, among others.
Pendix is therefore now reorienting itself. In the coming years, the priority will be increasingly on smaller trade fairs that have a clear and direct connection to bicycles and their wide range of uses. For example, the West Saxony-based company will present its new gDrive mid-drive motor at CYCLINGWORLD in Düsseldorf from 20 to 22 March 2026. Here, Pendix is also committed to the motto ‘Finest Bicycle Culture’ and will set new standards in terms of sustainable bicycle culture with the service king among electric bicycle drives.
