Messingschlager, one of the world’s largest importers of bicycle accessories, announces a top-class new addition to its product portfolio with Goodyear Bicycle Tires.

The cult brand with the wingfoot on the sidewall of the tire has specifically decided on an exclusive partnership with the industry giant from Baunach for the sale of its premium bicycle tires on the German and Austrian market, as Luke Musselmann, President of Goodyear Bicycle Tires, explains: “For Goodyear, as a leading global tire brand, success in the German and Austrian markets is not an option but an obligation. The constantly and rapidly developing bicycle market requires both a deep understanding of the traditional bicycle segments and innovative thinking to meet future mobility requirements. We are delighted to have found the ideal partner for Goodyear bicycle tires in one of the most important markets in Messingschlager and its cross-generational success story.”

Messingschlager – Managing Director Dennis Schömburg fully agrees: “The Goodyear brand convinced us with its consistent technological standards and a very focused premium product strategy. Goodyear thus represents a very coherent addition to our brand portfolio and we are very much looking forward to working together.” On the sales side, Messingschlager is also breaking new ground. For specialist retail distribution, the decision was made to work exclusively with long-standing partners Lindlau for the German market and Krama for the Austrian market, which ensures the highest level of specialist expertise in dealer support. All other sales channels are served directly by the sales team of the Upper Franconian importer.

Sales will start in March 2023. The tire models will be exclusively in the premium segment and will initially focus on mountain bikes, road and gravel. The urban and trekking areas are expected to follow in the third quarter of 2023.
